New Book! "The Larger Life"
Sister Devamata's Life and Legacy
by Joan Shack (Author), Sudha Puri (Author)
Sister Devamata had a deep inner life whose fruits in the form of wisdom are revealed in her writings and in the lectures she gave at the Vedanta Centre in Boston and at Ananda Ashrama in La Crescenta. More than a hundred of her Sunday lectures were transcribed and published in the Message of the East over five decades. They have been lightly edited and organized to form a wonderfully rich and useful guide for spiritual aspirants who desire to live “the larger life” in their chosen path.

SINCE 1909, the Vedanta Centre has been sharing India's wisdom through
the spoken and written word. Most of our books are by Swami
Paramananda, one of the first Eastern teachers to come to
this country. A monk of the Ramakrishna Order and the youngest
disciple of Swami Vivekananda, Paramananda lectured throughout
the United States, Europe and Asia for thirty four years,
until his passing in 1940. He founded four major centers still
thriving today, two in the United States and two in Calcutta,
India. He was a mystic, a poet and an innovator in spiritual
community living.
Books, incense, CD’s and worship supplies are sold after the Sunday services. They can also be purchased by calling the ashrama.
NEW! Ashrama Music is now available
